MapsAlive (plugin for Omeka Classic)
The MapsAlive plugin lets you display your Omeka content (metadata and images) on an interactive map that was created with MapsAlive interactive map software. MapsAlive is a web application that lets you make any image interactive.
The MapsAlive plugins works by letting your Omeka installation act as a MapsAlive Live Data server that responds to map requests for metadata and images from your Omeka items. With this solution, any changes you make to your Omeka items are automatically reflected on your interactive map.
The plugin lets you specify the HTML that the map will use to display information from your Omeka items. The map displays the information when someone mouses over, clicks, or touches a hotspot on the map. The HTML can contain Omeka content from one item or from multiple items. You specify the HTML as a template on the plugin's configuration page.
- Unzip the release file into your Omeka installation's plugins directory.
- Rename the folder to "MapsAlive".
- Activate the plugin on the Plugins page.
