The Getting Started with Project Planning section is useful in thinking about how Omeka can help as a platform. And the following section, Working with Omeka Admin shows you how to start building an Omeka site by adding items and what you can do with those items to create other content.
You'll find that it is possible to link out to videos hosted on other websites, and you can attach different files to Omeka items.
