It would be great if the Neatline extension would have a switch that would render a map that is served via an OSGeo Tiled Map Service. See http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Tile_Map_Service_Specification and http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/tms.html
What is great about TMS is that these may be served up from an ordinary web server. No WMS required!! Potentially, the plugin could even be extended to host the tilestores as a new sort of image proxy in Omeka itself. In fact, this functionality could be used to enable a zoomify capability on any image.
