I want to add an "about" tag to a static page where I'll put in an email address, acknowledgements, etc. I'm using the Autumn theme. Is there a package or an easy hack for this? I'm not a php writer and I haven't coded in a while.

I should say an "About" tab on the header. And, why doesn't the information I entered in Settings display as an "About" anywhere?

Do you know what version of Omeka you are using?
In versions .10 and above, there already is an About page available for your editing through the Admin interface via the SimplePages plugin. It comes packaged with Omeka, and all you have to do is activate it.
To do so, go to the Settings tab in the right corner of your Admin Dashboard. Next, click on the Plugins tab on the left and you will see there is one called SimplePages. Click Activate.
Now, you will see that a new tab has appeared in the top navigation bar of your Omeka Admin interface called SimplePages.

Here you can edit your About page and it will appear as part of the navigation in your public site.
It should only take a few minutes to activate and make the About page public.
