I know Omeka can harvest metadata over Open Archives Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH). I am wondering if it can actually synchronize documents over OAI-PMH and include them in a collection.

There is interest, actually. We're working on having the update for Omeka 2.x include better file importing options
