ContentDM migration advice

Browsing through this section of the forums I cannot determine what the steps in bringing collections in ContentDM into Omeka would be. Could someone be kind enough to elaborate on this or provide a url that sheds light on the process?

Thank you kindly.

I'm in the same boat. I have a CDM collections folder with subfolders named for the photography collections involved, which in turn contain about 60gb of files. can omeka be configured to point at these files as a front end, or do they have to be imported into omeka? If the latter, what's the best way to do so without using major amounts of scripting?

We do not have mapping tools specifically for ContentDM. There are some folks trying to use Omeka as a presentation layer without importing the files for Fedora as well. There has been more talk about this on the dev list, this thread in particular. And you might want to search for discussions of Fedora connectors.

Or, if you are not interested in importing everything, you could do so in batches using the CSV importer and point to the ContentDM urls in the csv document in the files column and they will be imported along with the item's metadata. http://omeka.org/codex/Plugins/CsvImport
