  • 1918 Flu Pandemic in Utah . The Utah Digital Newspaper archive is a valuable resource for looking at how historical events were recorded in the news media in Utah. With the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic to Utah in March 2020, there was a compelling reason to examine news coverage during the 1918-1919 Spanish Influenza for relevant stories about the impacts & responses in Utah during that pandemic. This exhibit looks at the major events during the Spanish Influenza timeline in Utah and explores several additional topics in greater detail.   • Women’s Exponent. Woman’s Exponent was a Salt Lake City-based newspaper that was published semimonthly or monthly from 1872 to 1914 and covered topics germane to Mormon women, ranging from domestic affairs and church-related events to national topics such as slavery and the suffrage movement. A collaboration between the University of Utah and Brigham Young University librarians and digital scholarship teams.
