Scribe Theme Issues

When trying to use Library of VA's Scribe theme (at https://github.com/LibraryofVA/omeka-themes) I get a blank screen. Is there a way I can just 'import' the transcription page layout and and features (like the track completion status of document pages (i.e., ‘Not Started’, ‘Needs Review’, ‘Completed’) painlessly into the default theme? I am a grad student creating a transcription project using scripto and I am hoping to publicly launch the project this summer for the fall semester. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you also using their fork of the Scripto plugin? I imagine that the theme requires it to work properly.

Yes I am. When I use their theme and try opening my website, the screen is blank. I am new to all of this so I imagine I am doing something wrong.

What version of Omeka are you using? I just took a look, and that plugin was developed for Omeka 1.5, though the theme has been more recently updated.

Would it be possible to run the 1.5 version?

It's possible to run Omeka 1.5, but not recommended.

You might want to take a look at the University of Iowa implementation if you need the completion status: https://github.com/ui-libraries/DIYHistory-transcribe

I originally tried their implementation but the 'item' pages wouldn't show. I probably should try to find a designer to create a theme for me. Thank you for your help sheepeeh.

I have tried using the University of Iowa's Scribe theme. However, when I click on an item to begin transcribing it I get a page with "<<<<<<< HEAD" on it.

You might be better off leaving an issue on their GitHub pages.

This looks like a message that git makes when it sees a problem managing updates to the code.

Hi,

This is related to a bad pulled commit on github.

Use https://github.com/Daniel-KM/Scribe. Some new developments are done on https://github.com/hotnuts21/Scribe too. Use the Scripto plugin of mine or hotnuts21 according to the Scribe theme.

Sincerely,

Daniel Berthereau
