WOuld like to enable put in at least a newsletter opt in form, best a newsletter management system (like Wordpress has mlany plugins).
I am very new to Omeka, so I dont know:
Can I easily add some HTML type widget and put my own code to enter a subscription form?

Omeka doesn't have a newsletter plugin, although you could certainly build one.
There is a simple contact form plugin that would allow a user to sign up for newsletter if you are looking to collect email for distribution in another system.

Well, more ideally I would integrate a form from a 3ed party systelm, ie I need to copy/past some HTML code somewhere. That should be possible too?

You could try this by pasting it into a Simple Page. Simple Pages is one of the standard plugins for Omeka.
