Installation error "parse error"

    I'm doing a test installation on the infamous 1and1.com

    I've read people having occasional problems, but none of the posts ring a bell for me on this error.

    I uploaded everything including the .htaccess files. Set the database info in the db.ini file. I set archive and enclosed to 777 as directed. I went to the home url and *poof* I get this message...

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/12/d87796153/htdocs/Omeka/application/libraries/Omeka/Core.php on line 14

    any thoughts?

    What version of Omeka are you using?

    I'm using version 0.9.2

    This sounds like an error that you might get from running PHP4 instead of 5. Can you check to make sure that you are running PHP5?
