   I hope this is just a simple oversight on my part, but I'm having difficulty finding out how to edit the 'about' section for the site ("This is an example of an about page. Please put your content here."). I assumed this was the 'description' field in the settings tab, but it isn't updating on the site itself–refreshed browser too.

   Am I missing something obvious?

   Hello,

   You need to edit the about.php file in your public theme. So, if you wanted to edit the about page in the "default" theme, you'd edit the file at this location:

   /path/to/omeka/themes/default/about.php

   ...where "path/to/omeka" is the location on your server where you've uploaded Omeka.
