I tried to download Omeka to my laptop. My Mac downloads through Archive Utility but then I can't open the program. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can download and also open Omeka to try it out?

You are welcome to use the Sandbox to test Omeka before installing on your server.
Thank you for responding. I know I'd like to use Omeka but can't figure out how to install it. I've clicked "download Omeka" but can't seem to finish the installation in order to open the actual program. Do you have anymore suggestions?
Are you trying to create a local installation or put it on your server?
If local, what are you using to run the virtual install on your mac? I tend to use MAMP.
If you're putting it on your hosted site, which step of the installation instructions are you stuck on?
