    Hi,

    I have imported over 5,000 items into our Omeka site. I had applied tags to many of these items during the import process, but now want to add more tags. I tried updating the taggings table for selected item records. This worked fine, but the tags do not appear as part of the item display when browsing the public site.

    Is it not possible to associate tags to items in this manner? Do I really need to add tags by individually editing item records?

    Thanks in advance for any help on this!

    We are using version 1.2.

    Editing the database directly isn't recommended, because many things update several tables in the database.

    We released a plugin a while back called Tag Bandit that would let you add tags to a batch of items. You may want to check that out.

    Hi Jeremy,

    I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I had previously tried this plugin without success several months back, then forgotten about it. I just re-installed what I think is an updated version of Tag Bandit, but still cannot get it to work. Here is a link to my previous post and replies: http://omeka.org/forums/topic/tag-bandit

    As in the past, this message appears: "We started adding tags to the items you selected." But nothing happens.

    Do you have any further suggestions?
