&#60;p&#62;Ops, sorry, my mistake, as serveradmin myself I forgot to set every directory within /archive as writeable.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Now it works of course, thanks a lot.&#60;/p&#62;

&#60;p&#62;All of the subdirectories in the archive directory need to be writable by your webserver, because that is where Omeka stores the files  when you upload them.  Exactly how to make those directories writable depends on your specific server configuration, so I suggest asking your server administrator or hosting provider.  I hope that helps.
