<description>&#60;p&#62;Out of the box, Omeka &#60;strong&#62;needs&#60;/strong&#62; and uses the .htaccess files included in both the route of the application and the admin folder.  No one needs to, or should be deleting or modifying the htaccess file - it will only cause you problems.  Some open source projects require users installing their software to rename an htaccess file from an original file name like htaccess-original to ensure that it's uploaded properly, but that also adds another step to the install process, and we're trying to limit the number of steps to install.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Check that you have not only the .htaccess file in the admin folder, but in the root as well.

After some problems with Omeka3, I've completely reinstalled with Omeka4.&#60;br /&#62;
When trying to access the admin/index.php page, I kept getting a 500 error.&#60;br /&#62;
Deleting the .htaccess file in admin seemed to do the trick, though there's no style associated with the login page.  When I try to login, it's not going anywhere.  It's requesting and processing, but then nothing happens.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Any ideas?&#60;/p&#62;
