I'd like to use Omeka as a Learning Object Repository. That means I need to upload items that are lessons, created by Adobe Captivate or a similar product. A lesson is a folder, containing html files and subfolders with their media. I then need to choose just the index.htm page of the lesson as the item.
Is there a way to do this? It seems that in Omeka, an item has to be one file, which makes it difficult if it's an html page with associated graphics etc.
You can have multiple files per item. Try uploading the html file and see what happens. You might also try flattening it out as a pdf?
If you'd like, you can make a lesson plan item type.
But I have to preserve the directory structure so the images will work and the paths between the various html files. Plus, some of these lessons have a lot of files, so I don't want to upload them one at a time. I am wondering if there is some kind of file manager (other than the dropbox plugin, which isn't going to work).
Do you need the lesson plans to be viewable on the site? If not, you could upload as a zip?
I can upload them as zip, but then I need to be able to unzip them and preserve the directory structure. So, what I'm asking is if there is a file manager plugin of something like that.
