Have you tested this out? You might want to upload a sound file and see how it plays on a couple of different devices.
The player is browser-based, unless you use the HTML5 Media plugin: http://omeka.org/add-ons/plugins/html5-media/
Is there any implementation example or documentation, for this media plugin?

What you've done looks good. The plugin gives users some flexibility especially if they are less familiar with HTML5.
