Installing a second instance of Omeka. Would like to export some content from original installation. Is there a user-friendly way to do this or should I just look into exporting metadata from MySQL and moving files from the /archive directory?
Is this an entirely new installation, or do you want to upgrade? If it's just an upgrade (instructions here: http://omeka.org/codex/Upgrading), we suggest backing up your database and replacing the files w/ the new ones. We have a built-in upgrade script that you will be prompted by upon visiting your Omeka site with the new files.
If you're trying to replicate the contents of an entire Omeka site (using the same version), you can always export the database using a tool like phpMyAdmin.
