We are thinking of entering DC equivalent fields in custom metadata. We hope to accomplish two things from this:
- Improve display of fields -- even when there's a good DC equivalent, the terminology can be awkward for non library people
- Simplify metadata input so operators don't have to go to multiple tabs and fish around for what they need
What kinds of problems will this cause? I understand we'll be forced to map everything when we migrate, but I'm wondering what it does to search/display within Omeka
