Are EXIF data already present in photos searchable?

I'm exploring Omeka as a possible solution for creating a searchable image database. A lot of images are already keyworded in Photoshop/Bridge and have EXIF data. Can this data be made visible and searchable somehow?

I don't think those field metadata fields will be searchable since normally they are only available to admin users. But you could always transfer that EXIF into a new Item Type element for Still Image Item Type and then it would be searchable.
