Join the creators of Omeka for a special workshop for staff at the Smithsonian Institution on April 24, 2009 at CHNM, 10 am - 3 pm.
Details
- What: Come meet the Omeka team for a day of learning and sharing ideas. We will introduce Omeka and provide a brief background on developing the software, and show examples of different types of websites created with Omeka. We will then break out into working groups of end users and developers. At the end of the day, we will get together to brainstorm and discuss what you would like to see Omeka do for you.
- One group will consist of 12 End Users without technical knowledge who might be adding collections and building online exhibitions with those collections.
- Another group will consist of 12 Developers who want to learn about the API to build plugins or customize themes.
- Where: Center for History and New Media, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA; Research 1, fourth floor conference rooms (found to the right of the elevators near the restrooms).
- Visitor parking is available in the Sandy Creek Parking Deck (campus map and directions) across from Research 1, or you may take Metro to the Vienna stop (orange line) and take a GMU shuttle.
- Please note, the mailing address for GMU is 4400 University Drive, but entering that into your GPS will only get you to campus not to our building. Please have the campus map handy to locate Research 1 and the Sandy Creek parking deck.
