February Playdate at CHNM

Details

  • What: Come play with the Omeka team for a day of learning and sharing ideas. Bring a lunch or grab it on campus; we will provide coffee and light morning snacks.
  • When: Friday, February 20, 2009, 10 am to 3pm (with lunch break)
  • Who: 10 End Users without technical knowledge who might be adding collections and building online exhibitions with those collections. 10 Developers who want to learn about the API to build plugins, hack themes, or contribute to the documentation.
  • Where: Center for History and New Media, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA; Research 1, fourth floor conference rooms (found to the right of the elevators near the restrooms).
    • Visitor parking is available in the Sandy Creek Parking Deck (campus map and directions) across from Research 1, or you may take Metro to the Vienna stop (orange line) and take a GMU shuttle.
  • Other Details: Bring your laptop, because we will secure visitor logins through the Mason wireless.
    • We may assign some homework--we will contact participants with assignments before the gathering.
    • If you haven't already, it might be a good time to set up an Omeka installation so that you can play with your project site when you arrive.
